SALARY AND CAREER

The salary depends upon your quality, skills, hard work, sincerity and dedication. 

In medical transcription a candidate gets paid for the number of lines he/she transcribes (listen and type).
One line = 65 characters.  Even spaces and punctuation marks eg: full stops, comma etc are counted as characters.  Accuracy is calculated keeping in mind the number of total lines, number of mistakes, etc.

The salary chart is just an indicative of sample medical transcription salary for most  top companies. 

MTs can earn more if they provide direct upload quality (i.e., 99% accuracy).

It is not necessary to have a very high typing speed to achieve more line count.  Doctors repeat almost the same matter in almost all their files eg:  the same tests, the same instructions, the same medications etc.   A smart candidate copies and pastes entire paragraphs from the old files into the new files thus achieving a greater line count in very little time.
